Best LG gram Laptop Skins UK 2026 — What Actually Fits a gram
LG gram laptops are the lightest mainstream notebooks you can buy in the UK — the 14 inch model starts around a kilo, and even the 17 inch barely breaks 1.35 kg. That lightness is the whole point, which is why a clip-on hard case is the wrong move: it can add 200–300 g straight back. A vinyl skin adds almost nothing, shields the lid from scratches and scuffs, and lets you change the look without changing the laptop.
There is no such thing as an official "LG gram skin". What you actually buy is a plain adhesive vinyl sheet, then trim it to your lid. The only thing that matters is the sheet size — not the inch range printed on the listing.
Which size sheet fits which gram
LG builds the gram in five screen sizes. Measure the outer lid, straight across the top edge — not the diagonal screen — and match it to the sheet below.

Buy by centimetres, not inches
Two sheet sizes do all the work: 24 × 34 cm (sold as "13–14 inch") and 38 × 27 cm (sold as "11.6–15.6 inch universal"). The 24 × 34 cm sheet is the clean match for a 13.3 or 14 inch gram. The 38 × 27 cm sheet covers the 15.6 and 16 inch gram with a little trimming at the corners.
The 17 inch gram is the awkward one. Its lid is about 38 cm across, so a 38 × 27 cm sheet leaves a thin strip of bare lid down each side — fine if your design has a plain border, but if it matters, buy a 17 inch / 44 cm sheet instead. Either way, look for the centimetres in the bullet points rather than the inch range in the title. Makers print one design in two sizes and label each with whichever range sells best.

Same sheet, coastal artwork, and the same matte UV laminate. The listing makes a point of saying the film fits all popular brands and simply needs cutting to your lid — which is exactly how you should treat any gram skin. Like the first pick, it is a UV-laminated sheet sized for a 13 or 14 inch gram; check the current listing and recent reviews before you buy.
3. HKAENE universal 3-piece film set — 38 × 27 cm (12–15.6 inch)
This is the one to buy for a 15.6 or 16 inch gram. It ships as three films — one for the lid and two for the palm rest — each about 38 × 27 cm, and that lid panel covers a 15.6 inch gram with a few centimetres to trim. The finish is glossier than the Finest Folia sheets. If you would rather not cut around the gram's slim bezel, this is the set with the most spare material to work with.
Fitting a skin to a gram
- Clean the lid first. The gram's magnesium-alloy surface shows fingerprints instantly — wipe it with a microfibre cloth and a little isopropyl alcohol, then let it dry completely.
- Dry-fit before you peel. Lay the sheet on the closed lid and mark the overhang with a pencil on the backing paper. A 24 × 34 cm sheet needs about a centimetre trimmed off each long edge on a 14 inch gram.
- Work from the hinge upwards. Peel a few centimetres of backing, press the edge down along the hinge line, then push the film on with a squeegee or a credit card wrapped in cloth. That pushes air out ahead of the adhesive instead of trapping it.
- Leave the edges for last. Give the film an hour to settle, then fold the edges over the lip and warm them with a hairdryer on low so the vinyl takes the curve. Skip the gram's rubber feet — they are glued in and lifting them risks losing one.
