Anime Laptop Skins: Naruto, Akatsuki, Kawaii and Other Anime Designs
Anime laptop skins are an easy way to give an anime-themed look to a laptop without a permanent change. On this page you will find officially licensed Naruto Shippuden (including Akatsuki designs), Hatsune Miku and Dragon Ball skins cut for specific devices, alongside kawaii, neon and Japanese-art universal sheets. Before choosing a design, check three things: that it fits your laptop, that the finish suits a bold print, and whether it is licensed artwork or fan art. The short guide below covers each, with the examples underneath.
1. Which anime skins fit my laptop?
Licensed anime skins are often cut for one exact device. The Naruto Shippuden examples below show why that matters: the Akatsuki designs are listed separately for the 13.6-inch MacBook Air (A2681), the 14-inch MacBook Pro (A2442) and the 2018–2020 13.3-inch MacBook Air (A1932/A2179), while the Naruto costume skin is for the Lenovo Legion Go handheld. If your laptop is different, check whether the seller offers the same design for your model. Universal sheets, often sold as “12–15.6 inch”, fit many laptops once trimmed. Measure the closed lid rather than the screen diagonal using our measuring guide. MacBook owners can check model numbers in how to choose a MacBook skin and the MacBook Air skins guide.
2. Matte or gloss for anime prints?
Anime artwork is usually bright and detailed. Gloss makes those colours look richest but shows fingerprints and reflections; matte softens glare and hides marks while still showing the design clearly, which suits a laptop you carry every day. See laptop skin finishes explained for the trade-offs.
3. How can I tell licensed anime art from fan art?
Some sellers state clearly that a skin is officially licensed. Head Case Designs, for example, says so in its Naruto Shippuden, Hatsune Miku and Dragon Ball listings. Many other anime-style skins are original or fan-made artwork, which can be perfectly good but is not official merchandise. If official licensing matters to you, look for the licence stated in the listing. Print quality varies between sellers, so customer photos are worth checking.
A few signs of a well-made anime skin, licensed or not:
- The rights holder is named. Licensed listings usually name the series and state “officially licensed”; many also show a small series logo on the design itself.
- Sharp line art in the zoomed photos. Blurry outlines or blocky edges suggest a low-resolution image stretched to fit the lid.
- Sensible placement. Faces and logos should sit clear of the edges and any logo cutout, not be cropped awkwardly at a corner.
- Consistent listings. A seller that offers the same design cut for several named models is usually printing to a template, which tends to mean a tidier fit.
4. Anime laptop skin or anime stickers?
Both are vinyl, but they suit different goals:
- A skin covers the whole lid with one design, adds a layer against scuffs and comes off in one piece. It is the tidier choice for a single large artwork, such as a full Akatsuki cloud pattern.
- Stickers let you mix characters and series and move things around over time, but they cover only part of the lid, their raised edges can catch in a bag, and removing many small stickers leaves more spots of adhesive to clean.
If you like a sticker collage but also want the lid protected, apply the stickers on top of a plain or clear skin, so everything comes off together later. The licensed Naruto Shippuden sticker sheet in the examples below shows the sticker route. Our residue removal guide covers cleaning up after old stickers.
5. Does an anime skin fit a Windows laptop?
Licensed, precut anime skins are most common for MacBooks, Surface devices and a few specific Windows models. For most other laptops, a universal anime sheet trimmed to the lid is the practical option; busy, all-over prints hide a slightly imperfect trim line better than a single central character. Our cutting guide shows how to trim one neatly.
