Best HP Laptop Skins for 2026 — From Spectre to Omen

Published June 2026 · 7 min read

Gaming laptop wrap with vibrant pattern — durable vinyl skin for gamers

HP makes some of the most versatile laptops on the market — from the ultraportable Spectre to the budget-friendly Pavilion, the creative-focused Envy, and the gaming-ready Omen. But they all share one problem: they all look the same out of the box.

A skin changes that instantly. But HP laptops have a couple of quirks you need to know about before you buy — namely, most skins are universal-fit (you'll need to cut around ports yourself), and those rounded Spectre edges need heat to stay put. I'll cover all that below.

Top Picks for HP Laptops in 2026

1. Colourful Abstract Paintings — Best for Creatives (HP Envy & Spectre)

This is my top pick for HP Envy and Spectre owners. The abstract paint splatter design is vibrant without being overwhelming — it adds character to the laptop without screaming for attention. The vinyl is thick enough to protect against scratches but thin enough that the laptop lid closes flush. Universal fit means it works on any HP from 12 to 15.6 inches. Just measure your lid before ordering and you'll be set.

2. Galaxy Stars — Best Space Design (HP Pavilion)

£12.99

The deep navy gradient with scattered silver stars looks stunning on HP's silver or dark grey lids. It's a universal cut, so it fits everything from the Pavilion 14 to the 15.6-inch models. The print quality is excellent — no pixelation, and the stars actually catch the light slightly thanks to the glossy finish. Best of all, it's one of the few space designs that works equally well for men and women. Students on a Pavilion love this one.

3. Japanese Wave Ukiyo-e Art — Best Artistic Statement (Any HP)

£11.68

Hokusai's Great Wave translated onto laptop vinyl. The print quality is exceptional — deep indigos, crisp white caps, and that iconic Mt Fuji peeking through. It's a universal sheet, so it works on any HP model. The 5.0 rating says it all. I'd pair this with a matte screen protector for the full aesthetic. It's also a great conversation starter in meetings.

4. Blue Flowers — Best Affordable Option (HP Pavilion & Budget)

£8.59

At £8.59, this is the most affordable pick on the list and it punches way above its price point. The watercolour-style blue blooms on a clean white background look premium — you'd never guess it's a budget skin. The vinyl is thinner than the others here (that's the trade-off at this price), but it still protects against scratches and applies cleanly with a bit of heat. Perfect for students or anyone who wants a seasonal refresh without spending much.

Applying a Skin to Your HP (Step by Step)

HP laptops have that angled front lip and (on some models) a rubberised base. Here's the clean way to apply:

  1. Clean aggressively. HP lids attract dust via static. Use isopropyl alcohol + a lint-free cloth. Wipe until the cloth comes back clean.
  2. Dry-fit first. Lay the skin on the lid without peeling the backing. Mark where the ports and hinge line up. If it's oversized, trim 2mm from the hinge edge.
  3. Hinge method. Peel 2 inches of backing, align at the HP logo, stick, then peel the rest while smoothing outward with a credit card wrapped in microfibre.
  4. Heat the curves. 15 seconds on low with a hairdryer, focusing on the edges and any corner curves. Press down firmly while the vinyl is warm.
  5. Cut port holes. Use a sharp craft knife to cut out USB/charging port openings. Go slowly — you can always cut more, but you can't uncut.
  6. Wait 24 hours. The adhesive needs time to bond. Don't put it in a sleeve immediately.

Bottom Line

HP makes great laptops, but they're mass-produced — yours looks like everyone else's. A quality vinyl skin is the easiest way to make it yours, protect the finish, and preserve resale value.

The Colourful Abstract Paintings skin is my top pick for most HP owners, but the Japanese Wave is the one that gets the most comments. Whichever you choose, take your time with the application and don't skip the heat step.
